The Spirit World offers four primary gravel route options for participants: 30, 58, 80, or 100 miles. Additionally, there is an optional 28-mile mountain bike group ride on the Sunday following the main event.
The course is only lightly marked, meaning signage will be limited. Participants are required to upload the course route to a GPS device to ensure accurate navigation and prevent missing turns.
The event emphasizes camaraderie, community, and sharing in each other's journeys rather than focusing on racing. It aims to create an intimate, 'adult summer camp' feel with a strong community vibe, live music, and social events throughout the weekend.
Registration for The Spirit World 2026 event is scheduled to go live at 8 AM MST on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
The event includes live music and entertainment, a group gravel ride on Friday, a gravel family dinner, a post-ride meal on Saturday, and a post-event group gravel ride and mountain bike ride on Sunday. Participants also receive a handmade ceramic mug, stocked aid stations, and medical and safety support.
Riders will experience a network of gravel roads through the Patagonia Mountains and the San Rafael Valley in southern Arizona. The optional Sunday ride also explores singletrack on the Arizona Trail.
