The route is approximately 80 miles (about 130 kilometers) and was designed by locals to showcase their favorite roads.

What kind of terrain can riders expect?+

The race traverses gravel roads through glacial hills, prairies, hollows, and lakes, including rolling farmlands, windswept fields, and the punchy and sharp climbs of the Leaf Mountains and Tordenskjold, finishing with a cyclocross-inspired finale.

How do I register for the Hollo Gravel Classic?+

Registration is via a lottery system. Participants must send a postcard with their name, email, acknowledgment of the unassisted nature of the race, agreement to race rules, names of others in their party, and if part of the Gravel 'Sota series, age and category.

When are lottery postcards accepted?+

Postcards are accepted between April 1st and August 1st. After August 1st, cards may still be considered until the registration cap is reached.

What is the registration limit for the race?+

The race has a soft registration cap of 125 participants, and organizers will try to keep parties together but cannot promise.

Where does the race start and finish?+

The race begins and ends in Battle Lake, MN, with the start/finish located down the gravel road west of the Battle Lake Inn and Good Samaritan Center on HWY 78 on the north side of town.
