There are two routes: the Grande (88 miles with 7500 feet of climbing, 35 miles gravel) and the Medio (50 miles with 3600 feet of climbing, 20 miles gravel). Both are described as hard rides, requiring preparation for a big day.
Registration opens on January 1st and closes April 30th. It is limited and fills up quickly, so early registration is advised. The Grande route costs $100, and the Medio route costs $90.
Most participants will opt for a dedicated gravel bike with 36-38mm tires for comfort and reliability. Some may use an endurance road bike with 32-34mm tires, while others preferring maximum comfort might use a touring bike with 40+mm tires.
The Grande route features aid stations at mile 38 and mile 72.5. The Medio route has one aid station at mile 33.8. '4 Hour Fuel' will be providing samples and product at these stations.
While the average temperature is around 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit, spring weather in the region can be unpredictable. Riders should pay attention to the forecast and prepare with versatile clothing like arm/leg warmers and a packable wind jacket.
Full refunds are available up to 30 days before the event. A 50% refund is offered less than 30 days out. No refunds are given within two weeks of the event date.
