Riders will experience over 50% off-road terrain, mainly consisting of smooth, fast-flowing gravel fire roads through Thetford Forest. The route also includes sections on country backroads and some short, potentially challenging sandy parts. The shorter route specifically mentions fun, twisty singletrack.
The Suffolk Gravel X is considered one of the more straightforward rides offered, characterized by a flat to rolling profile with no major climbs. It is rated as easy and suitable for all regular cyclists, though some might find sandy sections tricky.

The ride starts and finishes at High Lodge in the heart of Thetford Forest, where free parking, toilets, and refreshments are available. On October 17th, 2026, the rider village opens at 7:45 am, with ride starts between 8:15 am and 8:45 am. The rider village closes at 5:00 pm.
