The 50-mile out-and-back course traverses Leadville's historic mining district, primarily utilizing dirt roads. It includes challenging technical climbs, high-speed descents, and offers panoramic views of 14,000-foot Rocky Mountain peaks.
There are five well-stocked aid stations along the course. They provide Neversecond energy gels and high-carbohydrate sports drinks (C60, C30, C30+ caffeinated gels), as well as Skratch Labs hydration mix, energy bars, and chews.
Racers must reach the Stumptown aid station at Mile 24 by 12:50 PM, the Printer Boy Inbound aid station at Mile 34.2 by 2:20 PM, and complete the entire 50-mile course by the 4:35 PM finish line cut-off, which is 8 hours and 30 minutes from the start.
