You can choose from three distances: a long route of 117km, a medium route of 80km, and a short route of 55km. You can decide which route to ride on the day.
The route is mostly on good gravel or hard-packed earth, approximately 75-80% off-road, with the remainder on quiet back roads. Expect a mix of fire roads, forest trails, and farm tracks with rolling hills and some gentle climbs.
The difficulty varies by route. The long route is rated as medium with one tough climb, while the medium and short routes are also considered suitable for regular riders. The technical difficulty is rated as medium across the routes.
Support includes fully signed routes, checkpoints with food and drink approximately every 30-40km, accurate GPX files, available mechanics at the rider village and feed stops, and rider support vans for assistance.
Gravel bikes are ideal, though a hardtail mountain bike will also work. An all-rounder gravel tyre between 35-45mm is recommended. Tyre recommendations will be sent out closer to the event date.
The rider village opens at 7:30 am and closes at 6:00 pm on the event day, indicating the general timeframe for participation.
