Riders will encounter diverse off-road conditions, including fast-rolling gravel roads, wide fire tracks, tank tracks, and singletrack sections through woodlands. The route also incorporates some paved backroads. Expect potential muddy areas, deep puddles, and ruts, particularly between Thruxton and the Plain.

What is the recommended bike and tire setup?+

A gravel bike is the recommended choice, but a hardtail mountain bike is also suitable. For tires, an all-round type measuring 35-45mm is generally advised, though specific recommendations based on conditions will be sent out closer to the event date.

What support is provided during the event?+

Participants will benefit from a fully signed route and accurate GPX files. There are feed stations approximately every 30-40km offering tea, coffee, cake, sandwiches, and crisps. Mechanics are available at the ride village and some feed stops, along with spare parts. Support vehicles are on standby for major mechanicals or assistance, and a celebratory beer with food from a truck awaits at the finish line.

Are there any specific logistical details for the day?+

On October 3rd, the ride village opens at Thruxton Motorcircuit at 7:45 AM for rider number collection. The ride start window is from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM, with participants setting off in small groups after a brief orientation. The rider village will close at 6:00 PM.

How is the route marked?+

The entire course is clearly marked with physical signs to guide riders. Additionally, accurate GPX files will be provided via email a few days before the event, allowing participants to follow the route using their GPS devices in conjunction with the signage.
