What type of terrain can be expected, and what bikes are recommended?+
The course features smooth gravel fire roads, rough tarmac, and easy to steep singletrack. Gravel bikes with 45-50mm tubeless tires are recommended, or fast-rolling cross-country MTB tires. E-bikes are also permitted.
Is the event suitable for beginners, or does it require experienced cyclists?+
No, you do not need to be a skilled cyclist. The event is designed with flexibility, allowing participants to decide how much they ride. While some steep and bumpy sections exist on trails like Gotthard, less experienced riders can push their bikes if needed, and most participants complete 3-6 of the 8 climbs.
What are the accommodation options in Andermatt?+
Various options are available, including spacious Alpine Apartments with a discount code, a campervan area directly in the festival area (no reservation, 10 CHF for parking, 5 CHF for showers at Radisson Blue), and Andermatt Camping for tents or campervans (15 CHF/night). There's also Ölta Stall offering dormitory beds for CHF 95 for two nights.
