The route is non-technical, consisting mainly of farm roads and jeep tracks. All off-road bikes, including gravel bikes, mountain bikes, tandems, and e-bikes, are permitted.
The Pretoria East edition is based at Laerskool Witpoort, which serves as the start, finish, and main transition area for every completed loop.
