There are two courses: a Long Course of 91 miles with 9,116 feet of climbing, and a Short Course of 58 miles with 6,330 feet of climbing.
The event is considered a classic road stage, suitable for both road and gravel bikes. It is recommended to use 30/32 slicks, as only 4% of the route is dirt/gravel. E-bikes are not permitted.
Day-of registration is possible if the event is not sold out, but it incurs an additional $20 fee. The main registration period closes on March 25th, 2026.
Riders start individually or in small groups. The race involves timed segments, with scoring based on the cumulative time across 3 segments for the Long Course and 2 segments for the Short Course. No state highways are part of the timed segments.
A shakeout ride and packet pickup are held on Friday. Saturday is the main race day, including registration, a rider meeting, course roll-out, timed segments, lunch, and podium ceremony. A social fun ride concludes the weekend on Sunday.
The Long Course has categories for Men (Pro, U19, age groups 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+), Women (Pro, U19, age groups 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+), and Non Binary. The Short Course offers Open Men, Open Women, Juniors 16-18, Junior U16, and Non Binary. No licenses are required.
