Participants can choose between the full 79-mile Grinduro route with 6,500 feet of climbing, or the shorter 42-mile Grindurito route with 3,500 feet of climbing.
The race utilizes an enduro format where only four specific segments of the route are timed. Outside of these segments, you can ride at a relaxed, social pace with other participants.
A gravel bike or a hardtail mountain bike equipped with climbing gears and tubeless tires of at least 40c width is highly recommended. Road bikes are not suitable for this terrain.
Yes, e-bikes are permitted, but they are strictly limited to the shorter 42-mile Grindurito course.
On-site tent camping is offered at the Castanea Fire Company Picnic Grounds for ten dollars per person. Alternatively, riders can stay in local hotels, bed and breakfasts, or vacation rentals in nearby Lock Haven.
