No, there is no fixed route. Riders must plan their own path to reach the mandatory checkpoints in order, selecting their own mountain passes, valley roads, and ferry crossings.
Riders must visit seven mandatory checkpoints in sequential order to finish. There are also optional mountain checkpoints (GPMs) that riders can choose to climb for extra points.
Your score is determined by dividing your total accumulated checkpoint points by your total elapsed time in hours, then multiplying by 100. Time runs continuously from the start to the finish line, including all stops and sleep.
The event is fully self-supported with no cut-off times. There is no official timing, mechanical support, or sweep vehicle, meaning riders must carry all necessary gear and food.
The terrain consists of roughly 60% gravel and 40% asphalt, meaning riders must prepare for a mix of fast pavement and rugged off-road climbs.
