Riders can choose from three main distances: an introductory 20-kilometer route with 400 meters of elevation, a 50-kilometer middle distance with 1400 meters of climbing, or a challenging 90-kilometer long-distance route featuring 2350 meters of elevation. An e-bike specific 50km race is also offered.
The course is known for its highly technical and demanding terrain, including many trails and forest paths, described as "rugged Franconian" with countless roots, and sections of flow, all within a zig-zag elevation profile.
The minimum age for the short and middle distances (including e-bike) is birth year 2015. For the long distance, the minimum age is birth year 2009.
The pre-registration deadline is 20:00 on June 19, 2026. Late registrations are possible for an additional fee of 7 EUR. Entry fees vary by distance: 35 EUR for 20km, 40 EUR for 50km (and e-bike), and 50 EUR for 90km, with reduced rates for youth under 15.
Yes, participants can opt-in for two series classifications: the "Mountainbike-Challenge" and the "MarathonMan Europe". Selection for these series is done during registration and incurs no extra fee.
Only standard mountain bike pedelecs with a maximum motor power of 250 watts and assistance up to 25 km/h are permitted. The total battery capacity must not exceed 900 Wh, and battery changes during the race are strictly prohibited. A technical inspection and battery sealing will occur before the start.
