Class 1 fat bike e-bikes are permitted in the event. However, riders using them must notify the registration staff and will not be eligible for official results placement or podium awards.
How are the starting positions determined for the 47K Big Fat race?+
Riders are placed into four starting gates based on their best finishing times from the past three years. New racers or those without recent results are assigned to Gate 4.

All races start and finish at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead in Cable, Wisconsin, with access provided via Telemark Road.
