What type of bicycle is recommended for the route?+

A gravel bike or a rigid mountain bike is highly recommended. The ideal setup is a rigid bike equipped with 50mm tires and very low gearing to tackle steep, loaded climbs.

What is the ratio of off-road to paved surfaces?+

The course is approximately 40% off-road and 60% tarmac. However, because of the terrain, you will spend roughly two-thirds of your actual riding time on the off-road sections.

Are riders permitted to book hotels in advance?+

No, pre-booking any accommodation before the event begins is strictly forbidden to avoid booking out rooms that you may not reach on schedule.

What should I do if my bike experiences a mechanical failure?+

You are allowed to take public transit or hitchhike to a repair shop. Once your bicycle is fixed, you must use public transit or ride to return to the spot where you left the route before continuing.

Is it easy to find food and water along the course?+

Yes, resupply is straightforward as the route regularly goes through local towns at convenient distances.

What is included in the entry fee?+

The €395 entry fee includes your event registration, VAT, and a GSM tracker. Satellite trackers with an emergency SOS button can be rented for an additional charge.
